User Interface

With OmniRIM Documentum Connector, organizations have unified access to both physical and electronic records management information through the EMC Documentum user interfaces. The OmniRIM Documentum Connector user interface is designed in conjunction with EMC Documentum to ensure it maintains an accurate look and feel. It provides an EMC Documentum business process workflow that can be modified to meet the customer’s records management business processes.

File Plan

A cohesive File Plan is critical to any successful records management implementation. With OmniRIM Documentum Connector, the File Plan is maintained and managed by EMC Documentum Records Manager, creating a master/slave relationship. Both OmniRIM and EMC Documentum will retain a copy of the File Plan in order to reduce peer-to-peer communications and network traffic; however, only one system can drive changes to the File Plan. Any changes made to the master File Plan are automatically updated in real-time in the slave. Customers can also choose to continue using an existing File Plan.  

Connector Integration Service

To ensure successful implementation of the Connector, OmniRIM offers a Connector Integration Service encompassing the installation and configuration of the OmniRIM Documentum Connector software module. This professional service includes installing Connector components and defining OmniRIM data fields in the EMC Documentum solution. Working in concert with the customer and EMC Documentum, OmniRIM can create a custom user interface and design a business process workflow to allow users to input/create physical records within the integrated system. As part of this service, OmniRIM will also setup and configure web services, search templates, and system security for the Connector that is suitable in the EMC Documentum environment.

Performance Optimization and Scalability

OmniRIM Documentum Connector is designed for optimal performance and scalability, leveraging the extensibility and flexibility of both the OmniRIM and EMC Documentum Records Manager architectures. The software structure minimizes system to system calls and maintains a master/slave File Plan architecture so there is reduced peer-to-peer communications and network traffic which improves overall performance and scalability.
