OmniRIM - Supported Character Sets

At this time OmniRIM supports the SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS character set except for single quote (‘) as this is a restricted character in the database, therefore data in the romantic languages can be entered into the system.

OmniRIM supports Oracle database installations with a base character set of WE8MSWIN1252. DBA’s should ensure that other server character sets they wish to use are a superset of WE8MSWIN1252.

OmniRIM currently supports single byte ASCII character sets. We do not support multi-byte, or Unicode character sets. Unicode support is being reviewed for a future release however a target release has not been determined.
