OmniRIM Solutions Announces Release of OmniRIM Version 6.2

Vancouver/Seattle -Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - OmniRIM Solutions is pleased to announce the release of OmniRIM Version 6.2 for Oracle and SQL.

In addition to OmniRIM's existing features, OmniRIM Version 6.2 boasts the following features and improvements:

  • Collaborative Retention Development - An online Retention Development and Approval tool. Version 6.2 allows key participants into the retention development process. Users can be assigned access to request additions and modifications to the retention schedule as their business requirements change. Records management, legal council and risk managers can be assigned a high-level "approvers" status to review and approve new submissions to the schedule.

  • Document Management Tracking Module - Along with Files and Boxes, we have now added functionality to support Documents. The Document level gives users the ability to manage documents from a circulation perspective. All traditional features such as Check In/Out, Request, Retention, and Bar-Coding are supported. The Document level gives us the ability to proceed with integrations to all Electronic Content Management (ECM) products.

  • Profiles - Profiles give users the ability to configure their systems without costly customizations. Administrators or IT staff can add specific custom fields to their solution based on their unique business requirements. The feature is flexible enough to allow Profiles based on specific user groups (Office/Dept) or functional areas (File, Box, Document).

  • Audit Feature - This feature gives clients the ability to track additions or modifications to their system meta-data. The Audit Feature ensures clients can prove authenticity of their records from a legal and regulatory standpoint. It allows Life Sciences companies to meet the stringent 21CFR11 requirements set down by the FDA.

  • Time Zones - This feature allows global clients the ability to view "time" fields in their respective time zone even though data has been stored on servers in different time zones. OmniRIM now stores time fields in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) format within the database, allowing the system to convert time to the end users time zone before displaying it on their browsers. This allows Life Sciences companies to meet stringent 21CFR11 requirements set down by the FDA.

  • LDAP - Support for both LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory integration for user and password authentication.

  • Email for Destruction Process and Past Due Notifications - Email notifications to support the Destruction and Past Due Notification processes can be generated using SMTP.

It won KM World's product of the year award for 2003. The magazine extended its complimentary assessment by praising OmniRIM's solution in its evaluation: "Robust indexing and search facilities while providing bring-forward capabilities for records accountability, total management of record centers, provision of cost center charge-back and extraordinary use of barcode". The 6.2 release has made a good product even better! Zahoor goes on to say, "I believe customers will be very pleased with the enhancements.
